MTIBU INTRODUCES EXTRA MEMBERSHIP FEE FOR EACH CASE OF SUBMITTING INVALID INFORMATION INTO DATABASE

The general meeting of members of the Motor (Transport) Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) has decided to introduce additional membership fees in the amount of UAH 200 for each case of submitting invalid information to the central OSAGO policy database of the MTIBU to stimulate insurers to submit verified information.

An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported that 35 MTIBU members out of 50 members present at the meeting on Wednesday backed the decision.

Penalty, in particular, will be applied for placing invalid information on state license plates to the central database. At the same time, this information will automatically be considered invalid if it is repeated more than three times under existing insurance policies (without taking into account duplicates and re-executed policies).

If the insurer submits documents confirming the existence of the license plate, an additional membership fee is not charged.

Documents confirming the existence of the license plate may be original copies of policies kept by the insurer, or copies of technical passports of the relevant vehicles.
