NAFTAGAZSTRAKH INSURER SEES 40.5% FALL IN PREMIUMS IN 2015

Naftagazstrakh insurance company (NGS, Kyiv) collected UAH 196.4 million in insurance premiums in 2015, which was 40.5% down year-over-year, the company has reported on its website.

The company paid UAH 141.1 million under 98,900 insurance events (27.8% down). UAH 11.2 million was sent personally to the insured (7,600 events) and UAH 128.9 million was sent to healthcare institutions to treat the insured persons.

The level of payments of the company under voluntary medical insurance agreements was 72%.

According to the report, clients of Prydniprovska Railways received UAH 41.9 million, Pivdenna Railways – UAH 41.4 million, Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways – UAH 33.1 million, Lviv Railways – UAH 20.9 million, Odesa Railways – UAH 1.7 million and Donetsk Railways – UAH 1.5 million.

The insurer said that the largest payments were sent to insured employees of Pivdenna Railways.

In addition, the company sent UAH 336,900 of net profit for charity.

“During the year due to the sharp fall in income clients did not have a possibility of increasing insurance payments commensurately to inflation and the increase in the prices of medicines and medical services. Despite this, the company continued fulfilling its liabilities in full amount. The company’s premiums fell, payments doubled, but we managed to retain the main thing – most of our clients and reputation of a reliability insurance partner. Today, thanks to this approach, the company has become a participant of promising projects on development of voluntary medical insurance in Ukraine, which is enough for optimism in 2016,” the company said, citing Director General Anton Kiyashko.

NGS was founded in 1995. The company has 19 licenses to provide 14 types of voluntary and 5 types of obligatory insurance services. The insurer offers specialized insurance products to legal and natural entities based on the specifics of their work.
