LIOU takes part on the work on the draft of the Law of Ukraine “On Sickness funds”
Date: 02.07.2016. Section: News LIOU, ActualJuly 1st was a meeting of the working group of the Committee of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on health chaired by deputy of Ukraine A.V.Yatsenko.
The purpose of the working group – revision of the draft Law of Ukraine “On Sickness funds’ registration №1377 from 12.10.2014 g., involving experts and government officials, business and community to develop a legal act which will provide comprehensive regulation of health insurance in Ukraine and balance the interests of health care institutions, citizens and the state. The purpose of the bill – to streamline the legislative conditions of health insurance.
May 18 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Health at its meeting considered the draft Law of Ukraine on health insurance (reg. № 1377 to complete) submitted by deputies of Ukraine V. Bondar, A. Yatsenko and decided on the need for its revision.
The meeting of the working group of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on health was attended by President LIOU Alexander Filonyuk, who noted that the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine for many years in favor of a comprehensive reform of the healthcare industry and the system of state guarantees Ukrainian medical support.
Working on these issues within the Committee of LIOU on health insurance, the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine proposes specific areas of reform of the healthcare industry, particularly by stimulating the development of health insurance.
“League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine supports the shape and role model to promote industry development and availability of health services for the population. The development of health insurance can solve one of the major tasks in the industry – to ensure the availability and quality of health services to which the expense budget funded enough, and take proper control of their delivery “- said President LIOU.
At the meeting of the working group were a presentation of Sickness funds of Zhitomir region. Non-profit, non-commercial, charitable organization was registered in 2000 by the regional department of justice in accordance with the Law of Ukraine from 16.09.1997. “On charity and charitable organizations.” Its activities extend to the territory of Zhitomir region and today has more than 210,000 people – almost 20% of the population who own and voluntarily joined the “sickness funds”.
