LIOU initiates a working group for drafting the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Tourism”.
Date: 05.08.2016. Section: News LIOU, ActualAugust 5th indoors of National commission on state regulation of financial services markets the meeting was held to discuss the question of travel insurance. League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine introduced Navalkivska Romana, director of insurance law and methodology department of LIOU.
The participants agreed on the need to settle the issue of travel insurance in Ukraine at the level of legislation, namely, by amending the Law of Ukraine “On Tourism” and “On procedure of exit from Ukraine and entry to Ukraine citizens of Ukraine”.
The meeting noted that today travel insurance to the EU / Schengen area is governed by the requirements of article 15 EU Visa Code and Council Decision 2004 \ 17 \ EG, and the experience of Member States of the European Union should be used in improving existing legislation in the field of travel insurance.
The participants also discussed the proposals developed by the Committee of LIOU on insurance in tourism, to determine the minimum amount of insurance amount, minimum care, the costs of which are covered in case of accident, and establishment of other requirements for travel insurance.
In the meeting participated representatives of National commission on state regulation of financial services markets, insurance companies “ASKA”, “European Travel Insurance”, “Indigo”, “PZU Ukraine”, “Provinda”, “Ukrfinstrah”, “UNIQA” and others.
League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine initiated the creation of the National Commission for State Regulation of Financial Services Markets, the working group on the development of appropriate amendments to the legislation of Ukraine.
