The XVIII International Financial Forum started its work

XVIII International Financial Forum started in Odessa on September 12.This year, the forum gathered 150 participants, including representatives of the financial market of Ukraine and 14 foreign countries – Latvia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Canada, the Netherlands, Moldova, Belarus, Tajikistan, Poland, Azerbaijan, Georgia.
The forum’s organizers are Business Strategy Center “Perspective” and the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine.
“Our task is to consolidate the insurance market, strengthen the professional relations of all its participants, provide an additional impetus to the convergence of positions, and most importantly – promote the development of insurance business,” said President of LIOU Oleksandr Filonyuk, opening the forum.
According to him, for the development of the industry, it is extremely important to consolidate the effective system of protection of consumers’ rights, to form reliable mechanisms of safety of funds of investors and insurers, and to increase financial literacy of the population.
In addition to Oleksandr Filonyuk, the Forum was attended by Verhovna Rada deputies Ruslan Demchak and Maxim Polyakov, chairman of the National Financial Services Commission Igor Pashko, representatives of the National Bank Yevhen Stepanyuk and Vasyl Furman, General Director of MTIBU Volodymyr Shevchenko and members of the insurance community.
As part of the forum, the participants discussed issues that are relevant to the insurance and, in general, financial markets. Among such issues is the complex program of development of the financial sector of Ukraine until 2020, the legislation regulating the insurance market and initiatives to improve it.
Foreign experts shared with Ukrainian colleagues the international experience and practice of civil liability insurance of car owners, analyzed the state of financial markets, “windows of opportunities” and ways to overcome the main obstacles for the development of the insurance market in Ukraine and in the world. The forum will continue its work on September 14.
