Life insurance companies, which are members of the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine (LIOU) and participants of the Open Insurance project (11 companies), collected UAH 1.148 billion in insurance premiums in 2015, the league said in a press release.
Premium collection decreased by 10.4% under life pension insurance agreements, to UAH 8.8 million and it increased by 16.4% under other endowment insurance agreements, to UAH 709 million.
Insurance premiums under life insurance agreements (risk of death) decreased by 17.1% (to UAH 121.7 million).
The 23.6% decrease was recorded for other life insurance agreements, to UAH 309.4 million.
Insurance payments in claims in 2015 totaled UAH 256.9 million.
The league said that insurance reserves of the 11 companies increased by 25.1% as of late 2015 and reached UAH 3.5 billion.
Assets of these companies totaled UAH 4.6 billion. Total charter capital was UAH 23.8 million.
The Open Insurance project is divided into two categories: internal data used for analysis by the member companies and external indicators posted on the league’s website.
Nine companies-members of LIOU presented data for 2015 on a voluntary basis: KD Life, MetLife, ASKA-Life, Blakytny Policy, Illichivske Insurance Society, PZU Ukraine Life Insurance, Renaissance Life, TAS and Tekom Life.
