15 квітня Міжнародна Ліга захисту прав громадян України презентувала створення Міжнародного благодійного Фонду захисту свободи слова в Україні. Лігу страхових організацій України, яка виступила інформаційним партнером заходу, представляли Президент ЛСОУ Олександр Філонюк та директор департаменту інформаційної політики ЛСОУ Ірина Денисова.
Голова Правління Фонду Едуард Багіров ознайомив учасників з метою діяльності Міжнародного благодійного фонду «Фонд захисту свободи слова в Україні» та запросив присутніх на заході представників ЗМІ підписати Меморандум про співпрацю та виступити співзасновниками Фонду. «Ситуація із свободою слова в Україні не витримує ніякої критики: журналісти не мають змоги виконувати свій професійний обов’язок», – зазначив правозахисник Едуард Багіров.
Першочергове завдання Міжнародного благодійного Фонду захисту свободи слова в Україні – захистити професію журналіста, зробити її більш незалежною та вільною. Це, на думку організаторів ініціативи, послужить додатковим стимулом для розвитку громадянського суспільства в Україні.
ЛСОУ активно працює з журналістами і постійно тримає на контролі ситуацію щодо неправомірних дій по відношенню до них. Так, за даними Інституту масової інформації (ІМІ), за перший квартал 2016 року, в Україні було зафіксовано 7 випадків нападів на журналістів.
Ліга страхових організацій України, яка минулого року в рамках Комітету Верховної Ради України з питань свободи слова та інформаційної політики разом із ІМІ та іншими партнерами проекту працювала над законопроектом щодо регулювання питань страхування професійної діяльності журналістів у зоні проведення АТО, бойових дій, надзвичайних ситуацій та ін. наголосила, що тоді на перший план вийшла проблема вартості страхового полісу і фінансування всього проекту, оскільки багато журналістів працюють як фрілансери і не мають можливості захистити себе і своїх рідних самостійно.
«Зараз ми сподіваємося, що багато з цих проблем може бути вирішено за участі Міжнародного благодійного фонду «Фонд захисту свободи слова в Україні»», – зазначила директор департаменту інформаційної політики ЛСОУ Ірина Денисова.April 15 International League for the Protection rights of citizens of Ukraine presented the creation of the International Charity Fund of protection of freedom of speech in Ukraine. The primary objective of the International Charity Found of freedom protection of speech in Ukraine – to protect the journalist profession and make it more independent and free. This, according to the organizers of the initiative will serve as an additional incentive for the development of civil society in Ukraine.
LIOU actively working with journalists and keeps control of the situation regarding illegal actions against them. Thus, according to the Institute of mass information (IMI), for the first quarter of 2016 in Ukraine there were fixed 7 cases of attacks on journalists.
League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine, which last year within the framework of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committeee on freedom of expression and information policy together with IMI and other project partners worked on the bill on the regulation of insurance professional activity of journalists in the area of ATO, fighting, emergencies, etc. . said that for the firts was the problem of the cost of the insurance policy and the financing of the project, as many journalists work as freelancers and are unable to protect themselves and their families on their own.
