CABINET APPROVES RISE IN PAYOUTS FOR INSURANCE OF LIABILITY AT HIGH RISK FACILITIES

Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers at a meeting on February 11 approved an increase in insurance payouts for the compulsory insurance of civil liability at high risk objects.
Thus, insurance compensation to the heirs of the deceased in a fire or an accident at high risk objects is increased from 500 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens (UAH 8,500) to UAH 500,000, in case of establishing disability of groups I, II and III accordingly from 450 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens (UAH 7,650) to UAH 450,000, from 375 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens (UAH 6,375) to UAH 375,000 and from 250 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens (UAH 4,250) to UAH 250,000.
In addition, for each day of incapacity the third party will be paid 1/15 of the minimum wage, the amount of which is set at the beginning of the calendar year (formerly one non-taxable minimum income of UAH 17), but no more than UAH 100,000 for the entire time of disability (formerly no more than 250 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens, or UAH 4,250).
